Sediment depth exceeded 60% of the pipe diameter, defeating conventional jetting. Delivered in 316L stainless steel with a 4-inch slurry pump, cutter and high-pressure jets.
Project Overview
A Hong Kong client commissioned a dredging robot for 800mm+ sewer pipes that also handles pump station cleaning.
Background & Requirement
Several large sewers were silted beyond 60% of the pipe diameter — beyond the reach of conventional high-pressure jetting. Man-entry into confined spaces is dangerous and difficult to permit, so the government prefers paying more for robot-based cleaning. Some treatment plant sediment layers were compacted and needed high-pressure flushing as well.
Our Solution
Since toilet flushing in Hong Kong uses seawater, the machine is built entirely from 316L stainless steel for corrosion resistance. It uses a 4-inch slurry pump with a pre-pump grid and cutter, high-pressure water nozzles for flushing, and fine-tuned dimensions for 800mm pipes.
Results & Value
The robot works steadily through compacted sediment, covering both sewer pipes and pump stations while meeting all regulatory and safety requirements.
