When large sewer pipes are badly silted — sediment depth can exceed 60% of the pipe diameter — conventional high-pressure jetting is no longer effective, and man-entry into confined spaces is dangerous and hard to permit. This robot was built exactly for those conditions.
Because toilet flushing in Hong Kong uses seawater, the entire machine is made of 316L stainless steel for enhanced corrosion resistance. It uses a 4-inch slurry pump with a pre-pump intake grid and cutter, plus high-pressure water nozzles for flushing, with fine-tuned dimensions for 800mm pipes.
