A custom three-track crawler suction robot for 450-600mm pipes with a central 200mm suction tube. Pull force exceeds 200kg and it can drag a 30m suction hose and hydraulic lines through the pipe, working together with a suction truck — no man-entry required.

On certain projects the asset owner does not allow high-pressure water jetting, which rules out conventional cleaning. For a Hong Kong client we custom-built this crawler suction robot that travels inside 450-600mm pipes: a central 200mm suction tube works with a ground suction truck to extract sediment directly from the pipe.
Because the design space inside small pipes is extremely tight, the final design uses a three-track structure whose tracks expand and contract to match the pipe diameter. With a pull force of over 200kg, the robot drags roughly 30 meters of suction hose and hydraulic lines as it advances.
